Alaska's ever-sizzling Cleveland Volcano releases ash plume - The ever-simmering volcano in the Aleutian Islands has once again let out an ash plume just one month after last being upgraded after satellite imagery indicated increased temperatures in the peak.
Colima volcano (Mexico) - increasing activity and risk of pyroclastic flows. Activity at the volcano continues to increase. The new lava dome in the summit crater has apparently grown enough that incandescent lava could soon start descending into the Lumbre canyon on the western flank and produce pyroclastic flows.
Sabancaya volcano (Peru) - 400-500 earthquakes per day; increased degassing. Since 28 Feb, there has been an average number of 400 to 500 earthquakes per day, mostly volcano-tectonic quakes related to rock fracturing in return probably related to intruding magma at depth.

Tropical Cyclone Tim was located approximately 200 nm east-southeast of Willis Island, Australia. Based on the weak steering environment as the primary steering influence shifts, and model guidance showing a wide variation in track solutions, there is low confidence in the forecast track.
Cyclone relief as Tim fizzes - In Australia, weather-weary Queenslanders have escaped the latest cyclone threat with a system off the coast likely to be downgraded this afternoon. The weather bureau says Tropical Cyclone Tim intensified slightly yesterday afternoon and evening, but is expected to ease into a tropical low later today.

IS COMET PAN-STARRS FRAGMENTING? A veteran astrophotographer has been monitoring Comet Pan-STARRS, and his latest images obtained on March 15th seem to show a fragment emerging from the nucleus. A growing number of people are reporting that they can see Comet Pan-STARRS with the naked eye. Best estimates place the magnitude of the comet at +0.2, about twice as bright as a 1st magnitude star. As the comet moves away from the sun, its visibility is improving, which means you might be able to see it in the nights ahead. Step outside about an hour after sunset and look west.
